I "lay down the law" at TKO. I believe in a fun, yet disciplined instructional experience. I enjoy helping our clients achieve not only their fitness goals, but improve their quality of life as well. If you take care of your physical health, then other parts of your life fall into place as well. TKO is a fun, motivating environment that helps all kinds of people become the best versions of themselves.

I began my kickboxing journey at an early age. I was looking for a fun group exercise to get back in shape because the gym just wasn’t cutting it. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. From a dance team coach to a kickboxing instructor, I have always been extremely dedicated to reaching my goals and helping others reach theirs. I have not only been able to motivate our members during every class I teach, but I have also helped many create a healthier lifestyle as a whole.

I’ve always had a passion for healthy living and an active lifestyle. I enjoy pilates and yoga as well as my favorite form of cardio, KICKBOXING! My husband also enjoys martial arts and weightlifting. We have 2 precious daughters who are already enjoying kickboxing! As a family we enjoy biking, hiking, cooking and taking our Miniature Pinscher, Winston for long walks! I love all things natural and organic and enjoy educating people on natural health and longevity. See you on the mat!

My journey began in high school as an athlete when I fell in love with the intensity of competing and working year-round to come back stronger and faster each season. Post-graduation, I lost that drive for a while and found it again in kickboxing. I want to help others achieve their goals and fall in love with working towards becoming the absolute best versions of themselves in a fun, supportive, and motivating environment. Thankfully, that is exactly what I have found here at TKO.

I have been boxing since I was 13 and have competed at the amateur level. For years I have studied boxing/martial arts. My training focuses on science, ensuring that members leave each session with a better grasp of technique and form. I also value boxing for its health benefits, both physical and mental. Whether members want to stay in shape or reduce stress, boxing can help immensely. I joined TKO because of the supportive community here and I'm excited for you to join the crew!

Because of kickboxing and important lifestyle changes I have made recently, I’m the grandma running around for hours—and loving it! I’m proud to be the wife, mother and Nana I always wanted to be. TKO is now a huge part of my life - an important part. The laughs, smiles, sweat and encouragement that comes with this amazing workout is unbeatable. I’m happy in my own skin now and excited for my future - healthy, happy and grateful.

Cynthia Tan

Working out and exercising has always been a part of my life. I started out as a gymnast at the age of four and began competing at the age of seven until I graduated from high school. I went on to get my certification in Athletic Training and a Masters in Physical Therapy at Central Michigan University. I am a physical therapist that specializes in oncology rehabilitation and lymphedema. I enjoy educating others on how to exercise with proper form and exercise.

I was a dancer competing at the national level, then moved on to dance for Penn State University. When I started my professional career as an engineer, I quickly realized I needed a new physical outlet. I found kickboxing and fell in love! I've since developed a passion for helping others improve technique and reach their fitness goals. I also enjoy weightlifting, snowboarding, and driving race cars. I found a family at TKO, and I hope you can too!
