About the Event

“When we stay open and curious, we often discover something new.”

~ Deb Dana, “Anchored: How to Befriend Your Nervous System Using Polyvagal Theory”

The Polyvagal Theory, created by Dr. Stephen Porges, highlights how the autonomic nervous system affects emotions, social connection, and stress. It outlines three states: The ventral vagal complex for social connection and calmness; the sympathetic nervous system for flight-or-flight reactions; and the dorsal vagal complex for shutdown responses. Yoga supports this theory by using breathwork, movement, mindfulness, and meditation to help regulate and anchor into your ventral state.

In this class, you will learn about the Polyvagal theory; create your own personal Polyvagal map to help you navigate these states; followed by an all-level slow flow that connects yoga practices to a more regulated nervous system. $99, includes the above Deb Dana book.
